Day eight of the 2011 KahBang Festival marked the start of musical performances on the Waterfront Concert Grounds. The first performer of the day was fittingly a Bangor local. When Particles Collide took to the Dispatch Magazine’s Me Stage, which was to feature local Maine performers all weekend long. The day featured over a dozen performers on the 3 different stages, including notable performances by Stephaniesid and Evidence.
As the sun sank lower in the sky and the crowd swelled, the three acts at the top of the bill took control of the party. Atmosphere’s set got the crowd on their feet with their sharp sound and energizing lyrics. Grace Potter & The Nocturnals did not disappoint, Potter's powerful voice and the bands playful coordination were enough to steal the show before Lupe Fiasco took the stage and brought the immense crowd to a fever pitch. Fiasco teased the crowd by flicking his water bottle on the front row and delighted all on the waterfront before the stages went dark and the audience dissipated into the downtown.
